GT on the TOP, LSG in TOP 4! Check the Latest Updated IPL Points Table 2025 on 20 April
Updated IPL Points Table 2025: Super Saturday delivered double the entertainment and double the drama as the IPL 2025 race to the playoffs tightened further! Gujarat Titans ascended to the top of the table with a thumping win over Delhi Capitals, while Lucknow Super Giants sneaked into the Top 4 after a thrilling 2-run victory over Rajasthan Royals. Both matches were full of power-packed performances, emerging stars, and edge-of-the-seat thrillers.
In the first clash of the day at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat Titans showcased nerves of steel as they chased down a mammoth 204-run target set by Delhi Capitals. After winning the toss, GT opted to bowl, but DC’s aggressive batting took them past the 200-run mark, thanks to Ashutosh Sharma’s late onslaught and Prasidh Krishna’s four-wicket burst in a tense innings.
GT’s chase stumbled early with the fall of Shubman Gill, but Jos Buttler turned on the heat with a match-winning knock and some incredible strokeplay, including five consecutive boundaries off Starc. Rahul Tewatia finished things in style with a six and a four, taking GT home with four balls to spare and sealing a memorable seven-wicket victory.
The second encounter at Sawai Mansingh Stadium was nothing short of a cricketing blockbuster. Lucknow Super Giants, led by Rishabh Pant, posted a competitive 180 runs on the board, thanks to a fiery finish from Abdul Samad and a steady middle-order partnership between Ayush Badoni and Aiden Markram.
But the moment of the match came from 14-year-old debutant Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who smashed a six off the very first ball he faced in IPL history. Despite his quickfire 34 and Jaiswal’s brilliant 74-run knock, the Rajasthan Royals fell short by just 2 runs.
Avesh Khan’s clutch bowling at the death and Prince Yadav’s disciplined spell helped LSG clinch a last-over thriller and earn two crucial points.
With these results, the points table has taken a dramatic turn. Gujarat Titans have leapfrogged to the top with 10 points and an impressive NRR of +0.984. Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings also sit at 10 points but trail on net run rate.
Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants have surged into the Top 4 with 10 points, pushing RCB to fifth. Rajasthan Royals, despite a strong start to the tournament, now suffer their fourth consecutive defeat and slide to 8th place.
