The Ahmedabad based IPL franchise, Gujarat Titans is owned by a private equity firm CVC Capitals Partners. The Irelia Company Private Limited bagged the functioning rights of Gujarat Titans during the team auction, held last year in Dubai.
The company placed the second-highest bid of INR 5625 Crores to win the Ahmedabad based IPL team.
The newly inducted IPL franchise recently announced its name, which is Gujarat Titans. Opening on the name chosen, the official informed that it will pay tribute to the states rich cricketing history.
“Debuting in the 15th season of the IPL, the Gujarat Titans will pay tribute to the state’s rich cricketing legacy, which has seen it produce countless Indian international cricket legends over the years,” the franchise said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The franchise is inspired by the opportunity to represent and build on this deep cricketing heritage, as well as build on its future success on the pitch.”
Gujrat Titans Draft Picks, Players:
The franchise zeroed on to go with the likes of all-rounder Hardik Pandya, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan and opener batsman Shubman Gill.
Titans will be led by Hardik Pandya, who has been brought to the franchise for INR 15 Crores. Rashid Khan has earned his contract worth an equal amount (INR 15 Crores) while Shubman Gill will draw INR 7 Crores for his services in the IPL 2022.
