Vivo IPL 2021: Team India and Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya on Saturday have pledged to donate 200 Oxygen Concentrators in the Rural Areas of the country to fight the raging coronavirus situation.

Hardik ahead of the MI vs CSK game at Arun Jaitley Stadium said that all his while he along with his whole family have been finding ways by which they can help the country and needy people during these tough times. He also showed his gratitude towards the frontline workers.

“Gratitude to all the medical staff, frontline workers and all the individuals who have come out and held their hands at such times to fight out the battle,” Hardik said.

“Krunal, myself and my mother — basically our entire family, we were finding ways at trying to help out. We decided to donate 200 oxygen concentrators to the rural parts of India where I feel the medical infrastructure needs more support,” he added.

After the second wave of the global pandemic, India is reeling over the rapid rise in the covid-19 cases. The shortage of crucial medicines and oxygen concentrators in the country have compounded the crisis.

In the last 24 hours, the country has recorded over 4 lakh Covid cases.

“We all understand it’s difficult, we want to show our gratitude, support and just want to tell everyone that they’re always there in our prayers,” Hardik added.

In these testing times, several other cricketers have raised their hands and helped India. Earlier, Pat Cummins (USD 50, 000), Brett Lee (1 Bitcoin), Sachin Tendulkar (1 Crore), Shikhar Dhawan (20 Lakhs and more), Jaydev Unadkat (10 percent his IPL salary) and Nicholas Pooran have made their contributions.

Besides these cricketers, IPL franchises Rajasthan Royals (7.5 Crore) and Delhi Capitals (1.5 Crore) have also pledged to donate for the cause.
