IPL 2025 is still a long way but all the fans and IPL franchises are eager for the 18th season of the Indian Premier League. For your information, let us tell you that there is going to be a mega auction of IPL this season. A meeting of IPL owners was held at the BCCI headquarters regarding this auction.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) owner Shahrukh Khan and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) owner Kavya Maran were seen opposing the IPL 2025 mega auction, but BCCI has not yet decided on it, the board will definitely decide on it by the end of August. Kolkata and Hyderabad have been the winner and runner-up of IPL 2024.

According to Cricbuzz, during the meeting, there was a heated debate between KKR owner Shahrukh Khan and Punjab Kings co-owner Ness Wadia. Actually, the issue of debate was about the number of retentions. Shahrukh Khan was in favor of retaining more players, while Wadia was against more retention.

In a conference with Cricbuzzz, SRH Owner Kavya Maran said that “It takes a lot of time to build a squad and as discussed it also takes quite a bit of time and investment for the younger players to mature. It has taken Abhishek Sharma three years to become consistent with his performances. You would agree that there are many such examples in other teams too,”

Other franchise owners who attended the meeting were – Kiran Kumar Gandhi and Parth Jindal of Delhi Capitals, Sanjiv Goenka of Lucknow Super Giants, Rupa Gurunath of Chennai Super Kings, Manoj Badale of Rajasthan Royals and Prathamesh Mishra of Royal Challengers Bangalore.
