Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium was established back in 2003 in Dharamshala City of Himachal Pradesh. This Stadium will be the home ground to the Punjab-based franchise- Punjab Kings in the ongoing IPL 2023. The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium has historically hosted the home matches for Kings XI Punjab (Punjab Kings now). It is also home to the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Team in Ranji Trophy. So far, the stadium has witnessed 21 international games, including 11 T20Is.
India have played 3 T20Is here and won 2 against Sri Lanka in 2022 and Lost 1 against South Africa in 2015.
The HPCA stadium in Dharamsala has hosted ten IPL matches, the first of which was held in 2010 between the Punjab Kings and the Deccan Chargers. Teams batting first won six times while chasing teams have only been successful four times.
The Punjab Kings team scored 232 for two against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2011 to set the record for the highest team total ever at the ground. The Deccan Chargers in 2011 gave the Kings their terrible record for the lowest team total ever (116), which they still maintain today.
