Huge indiscipline complaints lodged against Shaheen Afridi to PCB
Pakistan National Cricket Team pacer Shaheen Afridi has come under massive scanner after the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. As per the reports in Cricket Pakistan, it is learned that an official of the team has lodged complaints of indiscipline against fast bowler.
The reports claimed that Shaheen Afridi has caused a lot of trouble to the team management. The official told PCB that the fast bowler doesn't follow The instructions given to him for the matches, and instead, he does what he wants to, disrespecting seniors.
The official said that they repeatedly told Shaheen Afridi to bowl yorkers, but he did his own thing. Hence, his performances in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 weren't up to the mark and was taken for runs in the game against New Zealand and India, which the Mohammad Rizwan-led side lost both of them.
Shaheen Afridi was dropped from the ODI team for the New Zealand tour
The poor performances, along with indiscipline, were one of the major reasons behind Shaheen Afridi getting dropped from the ODI team for the New Zealand tour. The fast bowler has been named in the T20Is squad only, and this gives a hint that he might not be in plans for 50-over cricket.
Shaheen Afridi also isn't part of the Test squad and this makes him only a T20I player. The premier pacer, since the last few months, has struggled, but not many expected him to be dropped, especially with the kind of impact that he has made for the side in ODIs.
Shaheen Afridi played a major role in the Pakistan National Cricket Team winning the series against Australia. He took 8 wickets in the series and was the leading wicket-taker in the ODI series against South Africa, where he picked 7 scalps and helped the team win.
It remains to be seen what will be future of Shaheen Afridi in the ODIs and Tests going ahead. But with the way things are there, the future looks bleak for him. In his place, the PCB has given opportunities to a lot of young players.
