IPL: “I was happy that he sledged me,” said Suryakumar Yadav on Virat Kohli’s heated argument.
Indian Premier League (IPL): Mumbai Indians (MI) and team India batsman Suryakumar Yadav after one year opens up about his heated interaction with skipper Virat Kohli during the IPL game. Although, his brilliant batting has managed to grab most of the eyeballs in the cricket field, but his heated face-off with Virat Kohli in the IPL 2020 game in UAE turned many heads.
The incident took place in one of the league stages games between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Abu Dhabi. In response to Virat Kohli’s 164 runs total, Mumbai Indians started off well and eventually won the game by five wickets and five balls to spare.
Suryakumar Yadav who was determined to take his side over the line, amassed unbeaten 79 runs off 43 balls with the help of 10 boundaries and 3 sixes.

During the chase, Virat Kohli was constantly talking to Yadav, in order to take his wicket, but he didn’t respond to any sledge and stood unbeaten.
Yadav said that he was pretty determined to win the game rather than listening to what others were chatting.
He further said that Virat Kohli is extremely energetic and electrifying on the pitch and goes really hard at the opponent.
“It’s not just me, he goes hard at any batsman batting against him,” Suryakumar Yadav said about Kohli.
“I was happy that he sledged me,” he said. “It means even Kohli knew that if I bat on, we will win the match and if they got my wicket, then maybe they could slow us down and create a chance to win.”
The 30-years old Mumbai cricketer didn’t termed it as a riverary as it was just a heated moment between the two. He later clarified that everything was normal with Virat and has huge respect for his Indian skipper.
