ICC Awards 2023: Team India’s flamboyant batter Suryakumar Yadav along with young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has found a place for himself in the nominations of the annual ICC awards for the year 2023. While Suryakumar Yadav has featured in the nominations for the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year 2023, Jaiswal is nominated for the ICC Emerging Player of the Year 2023.
Notably, the results for the annual ICC Awards 2023 will be announced later in January 2024. Fans can cast their votes for their favourite nominated player in each category by heading to the ICC’s official website – www.icc-cricket.com.
While the ICC has only announced the shortlists for T20I and Emerging Player of the Year so far, the nominations for the remaining awards will be announced in the next few days.
Talking about the nominations for the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year 2023, India’s Suryakumar Yadav poses to be a strong contender along with Mark Chapman, Alpesh Ramjani and Sikandar Raza.
This will be Suryakumar Yadav’s second consecutive title as the Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year 2023 should he manage to win it. He won the title back in 2022 against the likes of Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan, Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza and England’s Sam Curran.
The nominations for the ICC Men’s Emerging Player of the Year 2023 feature the likes of Gerald Coetzee, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dilshan Madushanka and Rachin Ravindra.
ICC has also named nominees for the two aforementioned awards in the women’s category as well.
Chamari Athapaththu, Sophie Ecclestone, Hayley Matthews and Ellyse Perry are named for the prestigious ICC Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year 2023.
While Marufa Akter, Lauren Bell, Darcey Carter and Phoebe Litchfield are shortlisted for the ICC Women’s Emerging Player of the Year award in the annual ICC Awards 2023.
