India Cricket Team have kick-started their preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash against New Zealand. It will be the last league game of the tournament and will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on 2nd March.
After the win against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, India had two days off, and then on Wednesday, the Rohit Sharma-led side was back on the field. The entire team was involved in a high-intensity training session at the ICC Academy in Dubai.
The attention was on Rishabh Pant as he walked out to bat after missing the last game. The keeper-batter had a viral infection and didn't even train. But he is now fully fit and looks focused in the nets, batting for longer periods ahead of the game against New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The reports in RevSportz claimed that Rishabh Pant was communicated something by the team management, and there are chances that he might play in the next game against New Zealand. The keeper-batter was also seen having a chat with India skipper Rohit Sharma as well.
Rishabh Pant might replace Rohit Sharma in the Indian XI for the game against New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
There are chances that Rishabh Pant might replace Rohit Sharma in the Indian XI for the game against New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The skipper has been nursing a hamstring injury and there have been several reports that the opening batter will be given rest in the game.
Rishabh Pant, so far, hasn't played a single game in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This is because team management has preferred KL Rahul ahead of him. The right-hander has been decent as well, playing a crucial for the team in the two games that India won in the tournament.
If Rishabh Pant replaces Rohit Sharma in the Indian XI, it is expected that he might open the innings. The left-hander has a decent record in ODIs, and he would be keen to cash on the opportunity and stake his claim in the team, especially with the semi-final and final around the corner.
