The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is around three months away from now. The excitement for the event has taken its toll on the fans and players as the preparations are underway. The International Cricket Council (ICC) along with the Board of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) announced the official schedule of the tournament, which will take place in India for the first time since 2011. The ICC World Cup 2023 will be played from 5th October. A total of 48 matches will take place and 10 teams will fight for the title.

The defending champions England have been going great guns in the white ball. They won the 2019 World Cup and then went on to win T20 World Cup 2022 as well. The team has been doing well under the leadership of Jos Buttler and they are one of the favourites to win the tournament as well.
England will be opening their campaign against New Zealand at Ahmedabad on October 5th. It’ll also be a tournament opener as both teams were the finalists of the last World Cup. Their focus will be then on Bangladesh as they will take them on 10th October in Dharamsala.

The Jos Buttler-led outfit then will be moving to Delhi for the match against Afghanistan on October 14th before taking on South Africa in Mumbai on October 21st. England will then cross swords against Qualifier 2 in Bengaluru on 26th October. The India challenge will be up for them next as two titans will clash each other in Lucknow on October 29th.
It will be time for a classic Australia vs England game as the two arch-rivals will face each other on 4th November at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Before locking horns with Qualifier 1 in Pune. They will then take on Pakistan in their last league match on November 12th in Kolkata.
