ICC Men’s Test Batting Ranking Latest Updated After ENG vs AUS 1st Ashes Test match: After Having a Phenomenal performance in the First Test Match of Ashes 2023, Joe Root has replaced Marnus Labuschagne and Now holds the No.1 Position in ICC Men’s Test Batting Ranking.
Joe Root played well in the first Ashes test match at Edgbaston, he Knocked out his 30th Test century in Birmingham and Scored 118 runs in the First Inning and 46 runs in the second Inning. This Performance moves him to the Top Position in the ICC Test Batting Ranking. Root also took one wicket, and this all-rounder’s ability led him to sixth position in the ICC test All-rounders ranking.
Marnus Labuschagne was at the top spot for the last six months, But These Australian Batters failed to perform in the English Summer. Labuschagne scored 0 and 13 runs in the first test match, whereas He was also not in good touch in the WTC Final 2023 against India, where he scored 26 and 41 runs.
Last Year, Marnus was in Tremendous Form, and this form led him to Top Spot, but Now He Slips to the Third Spot in the ICC Men’s Test Battling Ranking. New Zealand’s Skipper, Kane Williamson, moved to second position in the ICC test batting ranking, but unfortunately, he is recovering from a Knee Injury and couldn’t play cricket for the next four to five months.
The Three Australian Batters (Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, and Travis Head) were holding the Top Three Spots of the ICC Test Batting ranking before Ashes but Now, They lost their positions. Labuschagne drops to third Position whereas Steve Smith and Travis Head Slips to 4th and 6th Spot in the ICC Men’s test Batting Ranking.
Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have retained the Top Spot in the ICC Test Bowling And All-Rounders Ranking, respectively.
