Australia and India both had ratings of 118 before the most recent update, but India had more points and were ranked Number 1. But following a 1-1 draw in their two-match series in South Africa, India dropped one rating point and are currently ranked second. Australia maintained their 118 rating points after defeating Pakistan in the opening two Test matches and they might gain one after the third match win.

“Australia’s impressive run at home against Pakistan helped it take the crown of the No. 1 Test team once again, having last held the spot briefly following its WTC Final victory,” the ICC stated in a release.

Australia have also taken India’s number one rank in the Latest updated ICC World Test Championship Points Table. Now India is placed at the second position in the World Test Championship points table following its win at Newlands with 54.16 percentage points from four Tests, including two wins, one loss and a draw.

Australia’s supremacy is made apparent in the Australia vs Pakistan series when the home team excels in all aspects. Their success has been largely down to Pat Cummins, who captains the team and meticulously directs the bowling assault.

England are ranked third in the latest ICC Test Team rankings. They have 115 rating points to their name in as many as 43 games. They are then followed by South Africa. India tour of South Africa is recently concluded where the home side won the first test and the visitors excelled in the second. South Africa are at four with 106 rating points.

Pakistan were inching closer to the top 5 of the table after two straight victories over Sri Lanka in tests but after the series defeat against Australia, they lost a couple of rating points and now sit at number 6 with 92 ratings.
