ICC Player of the Month Award: Rishabh Pant along with two other international stars nominated for ICC Men’s Player of the Month.

ICC Player of the Month Award: Team India’s historic win architect Rishabh Pant has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award by the International Cricket Council along with England skipper Joe Root and Ireland cricketer Paul Stirling.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken an initiative to appreciate and celebrate the best performer of the month in men and women’s category across all the three international cricket format. The inaugural nominees of the award are team India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, Ireland cricketer Paul Stirling and England skipper Joe Root.

Rishabh Pant against Australia performed out of the box and scored 97 at Sydney which held the foundation for the draw and a classy unbeaten 89 at Brisbane to ensure the series win against Australia in Australia.

England skipper Joe Root has been nominated for his power-packed performance against Sri Lanka in the two test games. Root scored 228 and 186 to lead his side to a 2-0 easy win at Sri Lanka.

While the third in the list is Paul Stirling, he played two ODI against UAE and three against Afghanistan where he amassed three centuries.

ICC Player of the Month Award for Women’s

Among the Women’s cricketer, South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail and Marizanne Kapp and Pakistan’s Diana Baig are announced as the nominees for the inaugural award.

Baig featured in three ODIs and two Twenty20 games against South Africa and she scalped nine wickets in the three ODIs. She became the leading wicket-taker of the series.

Shabnim Ismail played two T20Is and three ODIs against Pakistan and took seven wickets. She even picked five wickets in the second T20I game against Pakistan.

Ismail’s counterpart all-rounder Marizanne Kapp played the equal number of games and amassed 115 runs at a strike rate of 110.57. Kapp picked three wickets in the ODI series against Pakitan which landed her in the list of nominees of the inaugural award of the month.
