The ICC T20 World Cup is nearing by the minute and all the nations are looking to settle their teams down. Every nation is looking for a good leader for their teams. In recent times, we have seen that the captaincy position in Indian Cricket is in turmoil. Pakistan seems to be sorted with that respect but Sri Lanka and England are looking unclear. The West Indies also need to work on that position. So, here is a look at all the possible captains of all the teams in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022:
Rohit Sharma will Captain India in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia:
After a time of turmoil concerning the leadership group in Indian cricket, Rohit Sharma has stepped up to get the job done. Rohit is the ideal fit for the position. He has the experience of captaining the Mumbai Indians for 8 to 9 years. His success as the Mumbai captain got him the job for the nation. India doesn’t have a better batsman than Rohit when he is on the song. He will also be opening the batting for the team alongside KL Rahul. Rohit currently is on the verge of creating the record for the longest winning streak as a captain. India beat New Zealand 3-0, Sri Lanka 3-0, and the West Indies too. They are on an 11-match winning streak under Rohit.

Babar Azam will Captain Pakistan in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia:
Babar Azam will be leading arch-rivals Pakistan at the ICC T20 World Cup. Azam is a calm person on the field. He is a thinking captain. Babar is the most stable captain that Pakistan has had in recent times after the departure of Misbah. He will have Rizwan by his side to help him as a deputy. Babar has a great win-loss ratio. He has a team to win by his side. The bowling unit will be led by Shaheen and he alongside Rizwan will lead the batters.
Nicholas Pooran Might Captain the West Indies in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia:
Nicholas Pooran is expected to be the captain of the West Indies. The West Indies are true champions of the shortest format of the game and Nicholas Pooran can be a great leader. Nicholas is expected to step in to fill the big shoes of Kieron Pollard. Kieron recently announced his retirement from international cricket. Nicholas Pooran was in the form of his life in the recently concluded West Indies tour of India 2022. He scored 3 fifties in 3 games. The other contender for that position is Jason Holder. Jason has led the Caribbean Giants in the 2015 ODI World Cup.
Kane Williamson Might Captain New Zealand at the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia:
Kane Williamson is expected to captain the Kiwis. The reason I am writing “might” is that Kane is out of international contention for a very long time. Tom Latham or Tim Southee or Martin Guptill might step up in that case. Kane is the ideal choice. It is expected that the New Zealand Cricket Board will manage him very well. New Zealand has a great chance with Lockie Ferguson in the bowling line-up and with the experience of Martin Guptill at the top.
Australia will be led by Aaron Finch at the World Cup:
Aaron Finch is the leader that took Australia to their first-ever T20 World Cup. He will not be sacked unless he is injured. Australia will be keen on becoming the second team after West Indies to successfully defend their title. The leadership group of Australia looks very powerful and experienced. Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Aaron Finch, Steven Smith, David Warner, Mitchell Starc, and Pat Cummins! Now that forms an elite set of experienced players with the skill-set to become a leader.
Dasun Shanka will lead Sri Lanka at the World Cup:
Sri Lanka is a team that has changed captains like Musical Chairs! But they have recently found a good leader. It is a team on the rise. They have players like Pathum Nissanka, Bhanuka Rajapaksha, and Charith Asalanka. The bowling is managed by Wanindu Hasaranga and Lahiru Kumara. Sri Lanka is going to be a good team at the World Cup. Dasun is a player who believes in performing and standing by example. Dasun will be keen on making Sri Lanka have a phase of resurgence. Sri Lanka is at one of its lowest phases but the talent shown in recent times is the silver lining of the dark cloud.
Temba Bavuma will lead South Africa at the World Cup:
Temba Bavuma will be the captain of South Africa at the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Bavuma was an amazing leader in the India tour of South Africa in 2021. The South Africans beat India by 2-1. Temba has a good team too. He will have Quinton De Kock, Rassie Van Der Dussen, and Dewald Brevis by his side. South Africa has a deadly bowling lineup. They have a trio in the form of KG Rabada, Anrich Nortje, and Marco Jansen. Tabraiz Shamsi will be leading the spin attack. South Africa also stands a good chance.
Mahmudullah Riyad Might Captain Bangladesh at the World Cup:
Mahmudullah Riyad is one player who played in the 2007 World Cup and will also captain Bangladesh in ICC T20 World Cup 2022. He has a great leadership group with Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib by his side.
