(March 29) ICC Test Batting Rankings: The recently concluded 1st Test of the Sri Lanka tour of Bangladesh 2024 made some big changes in the latest updated ICC Test Batting Rankings and the skipper of Sri Lanka Dhananjaya De Silva turned out to be a big beneficiary.

Sri Lanka were undoubtedly the better side of the two in the last faceoff and eventually turned out to be the winners of the match. The first session of Day 1 went in the favor of the hosts where they were able to bowl out half of the visitors at just 57 runs but Dhananjaya De Silva and Kamindu Mendis came to the rescue.

They both posted their respective centuries and Sri Lanka were in the driving seat right from the first innings. They were up to the mark to restrict Bangladesh to a mere total of 188 runs, and having a lead of 92 runs in the first innings, Sri Lanka made it only going up.

Skipper De Silva and Kamindu Mendis again came in the second innings and showcased the best of their skills to latch other respective hundreds for both. Now following his valiant and crucial innings, Skipper Dhananjaya De Silva has made big gains in the latest update of the ICC Test Batting rankings.
