ICC Test Players Ranking after ENGvsIND 5th Test, Virat Kohli out of top 10: For the first time in the last six years, Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli has been out of the top ten ICC Batters rankings. Kohli, who dominated the test batting charts now stands at 13th position following a poor outing in the recently completed postponed fifth test match against England at Edgbaston.

The ENGvsIND 5th Test has brought quite a few dramatic changes in the ranking of players in the traditional format of the game.

Virat Kohli, whose form hasn’t been kind to him, has suffered a harsh demotion in the rankings. The former Indian skipper drops by 4 places to reach 13th place with 714 rating points.

Wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant, who slammed 146 in the first innings and 57 in the second becomes the only Indian batter to feature in the top five test ranking. Pant got promoted five ranks to fifth place with 801 rating points.

Skipper Rohit Sharma continues to be in the top ten, even though he missed the test match. Sharma has 746 points and currently holds the ninth spot.

Meanwhile, the batter who has made giant leaps in the ranking table is England’s, Jonny Bairstow. The Yorkshire cricketer moved 11 places to reach 10th position in the ICC’s latest announced test rankings following his ruthless assault in both innings. Bairstow scored two centuries in the two innings of the test match against India.

Former England captain, Joe Root continues to play in his own league as he extends his lead by 44 points from the second-ranked test batter, Marnus Labuschagne. Root is crowned as the number 1 test batter currently with 923 rating points.

Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne is at two followed by his fellow countryman Steve Smith and Pakistan’s Babar Azam.

In the bowler’s test ranking, Pat Cummins remains at the helm with 900 points while the next two places are sealed by Indian bowlers – R Ashwin (842 rating points) and Jasprit Bumrah (828 points) – respectively.

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja leads the all-rounder’s chart with 384 points followed by R Ashwin with 335 points.
