Going into the match against England in the ICC World Cup 2023, Australia has suffered a massive blow. Premier all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of the clash against arch-rivals due to the head injury that he faced ahead of the game.
Glenn Maxwell was playing golf on Monday (30th October) evening and on the way back to the hotel from the clubhouse, he fell off the cart. The Australian all-rounder was holding onto the back of the cart because of a lack of space. He lost his grip and fell following which he showed signs of concussion.
Glenn Maxwell will now take 6 go days to recover as per the protocols of concussion. This will come as a massive blow for Australia as the all-rounder has been in staggering form with both bat as well as ball. His absence also will make the team short of spinners as he has been bowling really well in the ICC World Cup 2023.
Australian team coach Andrew McDonald however mentioned that Glenn Maxwell is doing fine but he will need time to recover. He mentioned that the right-hander will start with light exercises in the gym before making a comeback to the team.
Glenn Maxwell ahead of World Cup suffered a similar kind of injury as he broke his leg. He slipped at a friend’s birthday party and was out of the action for 5 months. This will be a huge setback for him as well as he seemed to have found his rhythm but now will again have to start from zero.

Glenn Maxwell brought his aggressive best during the game against Afghanistan. The batter created history as he slammed the fastest ton in the history of the tournament. The batter achieved the feat in 40 balls and surpassed Aiden Markram to achieve the feat. The Proteas batter scored a ton in 49 balls during this edition of the tournament.
