ICC World Cup 2023 : ICC Chairman and CEO to visit Pakistan to discuss issues related to their participation for World Cup in India – Reports

ICC World Cup 2023: In what has been the latest development as per the reports in PTI, ICC chairman Greg Barclay and CEO Geoff Allardice are all set to meet Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi to discuss issues related to their participation in World Cup in India, which is slated to take place in October-November. 

The talks mulling over Pakistan not travelling to India for the ICC World Cup 2023 have been hogging the headlines for a while. Pakistan has been stern on their stand that India won’t travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, they might end up boycotting the World Cup. 

Najam Sethi has been stern in his stand that they will play their World Cup games in Bangladesh. Recently a report emerged that Pakistan has agreed to travel to India for the World Cup but the fuss related to the venue of the Asia Cup has possibly turned the things.

The ICC officials will now be travelling to Pakistan to sort out the issue and break the barrier between the PCB and BCCI. It is learned that they are not in favouring of having India versus Pakistan in Bangladesh will be as it will be a very bad advertisement for BCCI as well as the ICC.

The fever for the ICC World Cup 2023 is on as we are just a few months away from the biggest crown of the game. The tournament will take place in India and it is expected that it will be played from 5th October. A total of 47 matches are likely to take place throughout the tournament. 

It is learned that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have shortlisted 12 venues in Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mumbai, Rajkot, Bengaluru, Delhi, Indore, Mohali, Guwahati and Hyderabad. Much like all the World Cups, India vs Pakistan will be the highlight of the tournament. However, it’ll be a special game this time around as they will play in India.
