ICC World Cup 2023 is just a few weeks away from now. The cricket extravaganza will take place in India from 5th October and the final is all set to take place on 19th November. The tournament will begin with a blockbuster clash between England and New Zealand.
The revised schedule of the tournament has been announced and the preparations are underway in full flow. Of late there have been lots of talks about the future of the 50-over format but it’s fair to say that all of them will be put to rest once the event concludes.
As many as 10 venues in India in Ahmedabad, Chennai, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata, Dharamshala and Hyderabad will be hosting the games. The tournament will take place in India for the first time since 2011 and a total of 48 matches will take place and 10 teams will fight for the title.
With ICC World Cup 2023 just around the corner, former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis has picked his leading run-getter of the tournament. The Proteas great didn’t go with premier batters Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Babar Azam or Rohit Sharma.

Jacques Kallis instead went with England’s white-ball captain Jos Buttler and backed him to be the leading run-getter in the ICC World Cup. The wicketkeeper batter is one of the most exciting batters going in the World cricket. He has been the backbone of his team and was the main architect behind his team winning T20 World Cup 2022.
It’s fair to say that if Jos Buttler bats at his best in the ICC World Cup 2023, England surely will defend their title. He will be crucial for his team’s chances and would be hoping to replicate his performance from the T20 World Cup to his event.
