ICC World Cup 2023: AB de Villiers backs Shubman Gill to be leading run-getter in World Cup
With ICC World Cup 2023 around the corner, former South African cricketer AB de Villiers has picked his leading run-getter for the tournament. The Proteas legend backed young Indian batter Shubman Gill to set the stage on fire in the mega event of the cricket.
AB de Villiers said that Shubman Gill despite being young already looks like an experienced campaigner. He also talked about his technique and explained:
“He is still young, which is incredible because he looks like an experienced campaigner allready. We are going to heard a lot about him in the future and in this world cup as I think he is going to be the top run scorer.
“Shubman Gill is much more traditional, very straight forward technique. He doesn’t try a lot of different things. He does have a lot of strength where he can change the gears and put a lot of pressure on the bowlers.”
ICC World Cup 2023 will begin from 5th October. India will open their campaign against Australia on 8th October.
