ICC World Cup Qualifiers Points Table: Big win for Netherlands! It means a lot for them as they keep their slim chance of qualifying for the tournament finals. Netherlands defeated Oman by 74 runs in a rain-affected match on the 5th match of the ICC ODI World Cup Qualifiers Super Six stage at Harare Sports Club. We bring you the latest ICC World Cup Qualifiers Points Table Updated (July 3) After Netherlands vs Oman.
It was not such a good day for Oman in the field but their performance with the bat was still rather impressive. They are officially eliminated from the competition as well. They have one more opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and gain experience, and it will be against the eliminated West Indies.
Oman performed better with the bat, but the damage was already done in the first innings when their bowlers failed to take advantage of the helpful conditions. Aayan Khan was the star of the show and, like Vikramjit Singh earlier, he scored his first ODI century.
Oman had some hope because of the 112-run fifth wicket stand between Aayan and Shoaib, but Netherlands showed their better expertise and came through the moment. Once the stand was broken, the result of the game was settled. The play was halted due to poor lighting, and Aayan opted to shake hands with the opposition.
Netherlands are still in the 4th position in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers Points Table with 4 points and more importantly a positive run rate of +0.188. Sri Lanka is the only team that have officially qualified for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 to be held in India.
