With the ICC WTC final just a day away from now, Legend of the game Ian Bell was asked to make the prediction for the winner of the game. He, however, couldn’t make the prediction because of the strong bowling lineups of both India and Australia.

He, however, made a bold prediction, saying that whosoever among the teams will bat better will win. He said that both the teams will have a go at each other with the ball. But batting will be key. He said:

“It’ll be fascinating to see how both teams go about it. We know there are two world-class bowling attacks going at each other, it’ll be how many runs you can score. That’s the thing in England – if you can go big you can put a lot of pressure on people at the back end. So I think the batting units are the ones to keep an eye on.”

The conditions in England mostly are suited for bowling. However, it’ll be test for batters of both teams. It remains to be seen who will fare in the ultimate Test.

ICC WTC Final: Ross backs Australia to win the World Test Championship Final

Apart from Ian Bell, Ross Taylor also made a prediction related to the band. He backed Australia to win the game. He said that the absence of Jasprit Bumrah will be massive for India and the toss play a crucial part too. He explained:

“Whoever wins the toss, it’ll be interesting to see how much grass they do leave on the wicket. India like to play two spinners so if they can bowl last on it you never know. But I think Australia play here a lot in the Ashes series, and losing Bumrah is a massive loss for India.

“So I think the toss will play a part, but the early prediction I’d say just slightly in favour of Australia probably because of the injuries that India have but also because of the experience that Australia have in playing over here.”

India hasn’t won an ICC trophy since 2013 and would be eager to end the drought. On the other hand, Australia didn’t lose a single series in this edition of the WTC Final and would be looking to clinch their maiden trophy.
