The biggest Test match for Rohit Sharma and his men is just around the corner. The wait for the ICC Trophy might come to an end as India is all set to lock horns with Australia in the final of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final.
The game will be played at The Oval, from 7th to 11th June. The focus will be on the skipper Rohit Sharma as the entire nation would be backing him to get the ICC Trophy. He along with Virat Kohli has been the backbone of the team for a while and would want to set the stage on fire.
While there was no doubt about the ability of Rohit Sharma as a player in the white ball, he was yet to prove his prowess in Test cricket. But ever since he started opening in Tests, he set the stage on fire and is one of the finest openers going in world cricket.
Rohit Sharma has become India’s most reliable batter in the Tests of late. He averages 52.76 with 6 hundred & 4 fifties from 36 innings since 2019 and will be crucial for India’s chances in the ICC WTC Final.

Ahead of the big final, Virat Kohli lavished rich praise on Rohit Sharma. He highlighted how the batter has shown his testimony and he has enjoyed watching him bat. Speaking to the ICC, he said:
“Rohit always had more time than anyone, the way he performed in tests in the last few years has shown the testimony of his temperament and opening is a tough job and he did a great job, he has performed well in all formats, enjoy watching him especially from other end and hopefully he can repeat his performance what he did in Oval in last time”.

Virat Kohli further went on to say that Rohit Sharma’s performance in the Test cricket has shown that he can do things at highest level. He said:
“What Rohit has done in White ball cricket for a long period, everyone knew his talent but the way he performed in tests in last few years showed his belief that he can do it in tests at the highest level, he has done really in England conditions”.
Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be a vital cog in India’s lineup in the important clash. They have been the backbone of the team for the last one decade and would be hoping to step up on the big occasion and win the ICC trophy for their team.
