On this surface, 352 was a par score, although it was soon apparent that this was not a high-scoring ground. India slid from 86 for 1 to 176 for 7 late on Day 2, and there were speculations that the series might get leveled, but then came Dhruv Jurel.

With his 35th Test wicket haul, Ashwin dismissed England for 145, leaving India with 192 to win the series.
Spinner opened the bowling for England and that proved to be the worst decision for them in the match as they were unable to control the new ball and Rohit Sharma showed no hesitation in collecting multiple boundaries in the remaining 8 overs of the day. India started Day 4 with 40 runs and 152 more to win with all wickets in hand.
Jaiswal was the first man to go down and India were at 84/1 with 108 more to win. Skipper Sharma smoked an outstanding half-century but got out soon after Jaiswal. India were 99 for 1 down and England made their way in with quick 4 wickets for just 21 runs. Rohit, Patidar, Jadeja and Sarfaraz were the players to get dismissed but the first-innings hero Dhruv Jurel stepped up for another rescue.
Shubman Gill held on to one end and just took singles and doubles. Jurel also played calmy and made no mistakes. Their calm and composed 72-run partnership took India home and secured their 17th consecutive home series win.
