This afternoon, Indian team captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. In reply, while batting, the Bangladesh team scored 265 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Bangladesh’s start was nothing special, but captain Shakib Al Hasan scored 80 runs in 85 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes. Middle-order batsman Towhid Hridoy played an innings of 54 runs in 81 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes.
In bowling, Mohammed Shami, playing the first match of the Asia Cup 2023 for the Indian team, took two wickets for 32 runs in 8 overs, while Shardul Thakur took three wickets for 65 runs in 10 overs. Prasidh Krishna, Axar Patel, and Jadeja all got one wicket each.
Chasing an easy score of 265 runs, the Indian team was all out for 259 runs in 39.5 overs.
