One of the opening combinations that India can try for the first game is of skipper Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal. The Indian captain will be making a comeback into the team after 14 months long. Also thembatting at the top allows the team to have a left-right combination, which could be vital for any team.

Rohit Sharma – Virat Kohli

India could also be tempted to play Virat Kohli at the top. There are chances that Kohli along with Rohit Sharma might open the innings in the IND vs AFG. This can allow both the batters to get set in the powerplay and then take on the game in the rest of the overs. Also, Rohit and Virat opening at the top will allow the team to play youngsters in the middle order. Playing young batters in the middle could be a great thing as they can take on bowlers right from start and it won’t let opponents put pressure.
