IND vs AFG T20I series is just a day away from now. The three-match series between the teams will begin from 11th January in Mohali. The second match is slated to take place in Indore on 14th January while the last game will be played in Bengaluru on 17th January.
With the IND vs AFG series just a day away from now, reports in the Bengali newspaper Anandabazar Patrika have shaken many. Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer’s name not being in the team raised quite a few eyebrows and there were a lot of questions about why the duo wasn’t picked.
However, now it has been revealed as per the reports in Anandabazar Patrika that Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were dropped from the squad for the IND vs AFG series due to disciplinary grounds. The BCCI weren’t impressed with their antics and thus took a strong step.

The reports claimed that after Ishan Kishan opted out of the South Africa Tests, he was seen partying with MS Dhoni in Dubai and also appeared in KBC without permission. The keeper-batter played a white-ball series against South Africa but opted out of the Tests.
Ishan Kishan’s partying and attending TV quizzes didn’t go well with BCCI and they didn’t pick him for the IND vs AFG series. It is learned that keeper-batter’s antics might even see him getting dropped from the T20 World Cup squad.
On the other hand, BCCI wasn’t impressed with Shreyas Iyer’s batting performance in the Test series against South Africa. The governing body told him to play in the Ranji Trophy but he didn’t want to and instead asked for a break and was recently seen enjoying his time off in South Africa.
Shreyas Iyer asking for a break didn’t go well with BCCI and they decided to drop him from the IND vs AFG series. The selection committee has decided to stay strict with players who don’t take Test cricket seriously.
Shreyas Iyer reportedly then made himself available for the Ranji Trophy and will play against Andhra Pradesh on January 12. The reports also claimed that BCCI were impressed with Shubman Gill and Rinku Singh and the latter might get the Test cap soon.
