Finally, Virat Kohli is back! He managed to score his 75th overall hundred and 28th Test hundred against a decent Australian bowling line-up. The pitch offered little to no help for the bowlers and Virat made full use of this. He scored the hundred in a quick time. Axar Patel was batting at the other end when he got to this milestone. Ravi Shastri said, on air, “Virat has finally managed to get this 600 kg gorilla off the back.”. He managed to score 186 runs from 364 balls before Todd Murphy got rid of him.

This is Virat Kohli’s first hundred since November 2019, when he scored a hundred against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in the pink ball test. The pitch was much trickier to bat on as compared to the Shubman Gill phase. But Virat’s classic defense and drives were rock solid. He made sure to get to the pitch of the ball and played high-percentage shots.
