Ind vs Aus: David Warner ruled out of the 2nd Test with concussion, Matt Renshaw to replace him.

Ind vs Aus: David Warner has been ruled out of the 2nd Test with a concussion, and Matt Renshaw is to replace him: Australian opener and star batter David Warner has been ruled out of the second Test against India due to a concussion sustained in the first day of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. As a concussion substitute, Matthew Renshaw is set to replace Warner in the lineup.

Towards the conclusion of the 10th over, David Warner took a nasty blow to the elbow before Mohammed Siraj struck him on the helmet. He received substantial attention from the Australian team doctor and physiotherapist for the elbow injury, but oddly, he didn’t be checked for a concussion or even have his helmet changed.

He kept on batting till he nicked Mohammed Shami to the wicketkeeper for a laborious 15, and he didn’t field when Australia started to bowl later in the day.

It is understood that Australia have filed paperwork with the match referee to have David Warner substituted by Renshaw. If approved, it would mean that Renshaw, who was substituted in for Travis Head for this match, will only be missing from the team for one day.

Although Renshaw began his career as an opener and continues to do so in domestic cricket, he has batted in the middle order for his last two outings.

Usman Khawaja said that his partner is not “100 percent fit” at the stumps of Day 1. He said, “He is a little bit weary at the moment. A knock to the arm and then to the head has made him a little bit weary at the moment.”

On this tour, Australia have experienced a variety of injury issues. Josh Hazlewood also missed the first two games, and Mitchell Starc and Cameron Green were unable to make it to the team in Delhi after injuring their fingers.

Another statement released by Cricket Australia states, “Warner will now follow the graduated return to sport protocols ahead of the third Test in Indore in line with Cricket Australia guidelines.”
