IND vs AUS: Jaydev Unadkat released from India squad to play for Saurashtra in Ranji Trophy Final: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released pacer Jaydev Unadkat ahead of the second test match between India and Australia to participate in the Ranji Trophy 2023 Final against Bengal. The fast bowler will be available to lead his home side Saurashtra in the summit clash against Bengal, which starts on February 17 in Kolkata.

It is understood that Jaydev Unadkat requested the Indian management to release him from the Indian squad for the second Test match as he was keen to play in the Ranji Trophy Final. The Indian selectors approved Unadkat’s request a short while ago.

India vs Australia 2nd Test match is slated to begin on 17th February 2023 in Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. The hosts are expected to field an unchanged Indian side led by Rohit Sharma.

Unadkat’s home team Saurashtra entered the final of the Ranji Trophy 2023 by defeating Karnataka in the semi-final on Sunday, while Bengal on the other hand beaten Madhya Pradesh convincingly to seal their place in the finals of the domestic tournament.

Saurashtra and Bengal will lock horns in the summit clash of the Ranji Trophy 2022-23, which starts on February 17 in Kolkata to end the tournament.

Jaydev Unadkat’s presence will be a significant upliftment for Saurashtra as they target their second-ever Ranji Trophy title after winning their first title back in the 2019-20 season. Though Unadkat has only played three games for his home side, he has been successful in scalping 17 wickets at an average of 13.64.

His brilliant show was unleashed against Delhi in the Group Stage game when he took a hat-trick in the first over of the match and went on to pick his career-best figures of 8 for 39. The pacer also contributed with a sublime 70 runs from his bat in that game, which Saurashtra won by an innings and 214 runs.
