IND vs BAN 2nd ODI: Bangladesh beat India to win the series. Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel fought till the end but failed to win: The second match of the 3-match series was played today at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. It was a do-or-die match for India as it had lost the first match of the 3-match series.

Bangladesh captain Litton Das won the toss and elected to bat first, which also went in his favor. Batting first, Bangladesh scored 271 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs. Hero of the last match Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored the most runs from his team. He scored 100 runs in just 83 balls with the help of eight fours and four sixes. The same Mahmudullah also played an inning of 77 runs in 96 balls.
While bowling for India, Washington Sundar took the maximum of 3 wickets while Mohammad Siraj and Umran Malik got 2-2 wickets.
Rohit Sharma fought till the end despite being injured
Rohit Sharma got injured when this game started. While fielding, he seriously injured his left thumb. Rohit was then brought to the hospital as well. He returned to the stadium, but his left thumb was bandaged. In such a situation, he did not come down for fielding. Also did not come to inaugurate. Rohit came out to bat at number nine and almost turned the match from there. Even after the injured finger, Rohit scored an unbeaten 51 in 28 balls with the help of three fours and five sixes. With one over remaining, India needed 20 runs. Mustafizur Rahman held the ball, as Rohit was about to strike.
On the first ball, no runs were scored. On the second and third balls, Rohit scored two straight fours. After this, no run was scored on the fourth ball. India needed 12 runs off the last two balls to win. Rohit hit a six on the fifth ball. No runs were scored after Mustafizur’s final ball, a yorker. The 48th over, when Mohammad Siraj was on strike and Rahman took this over on a maiden, proved to be the game’s turning point. No runs being scored in this over proved to be a game-changer for India.
