Still, two days are left in the test match and the Indian Team will try to play at least one season on Day 4.
The Indian Team played excellent cricket on Day 3 as they all out England at 319 runs and also scored 200 runs in their second inning in Rajkot. The Young Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal played a fantastic knock of 104 runs in 133 balls and became the first batter to score 400+ runs in this test series.
England played good cricket on Day 2 but they failed to carry the same momentum on Day 3 therefore they got all out by scoring a low total on the scoreboard. Ben Duckett was the only player who scored 50+ runs in their first inning in Rajkot however, Duckett scored 153 runs in 151 balls.
IND vs ENG 3rd Test Day 2 Match Summary:
By the end of Day 2 England was at 207/2 but they failed to have a good start on day 3 they lost a couple of wickets in the string few overs of that day which led them on the back-foot. The Indian bowlers weren’t giving singles to the English batter which led them under pressure and they lost their wicket.
After Ben Duckett, Skipper Ben Stokes was the only batter who scored 20+ runs for England in their first inning. Ben Stokes scored 41 runs in 89 balls but he failed to make partnerships with other batters therefore England got all out at 319 runs in 71.1 overs.
From the Indian Bowling department, Mohd. Siraj took four wickets whereas Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each. Indian Bowlers showed great intent against English batters and took their wickets easily. However, the Indian Team played with only four bowlers on Day 3 after Ravichandran Ashwin withdrew his name from the third test due to a medical emergency.
In the Second inning, Skipper Rohit Sharma got out early by scoring just 19 runs, however, youngsters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill made a good partnership of 161 runs for the second wicket which led the Indian Team in a strong position. Yashasvi Jaiswal retired out by scoring 104 runs in 133 balls whereas Shubman Gill is still on the crease at 65* (120).
By the end of Day 3, the Indian Team scored 196 runs on the scoreboard with a loss of two wickets and now, they have a massive lead of 322 runs. From England’s bowling department, Joe Root and Tom Hartley took one wicket each.
