IND vs ENG: Ravichandran Ashwin is set to reach another milestone as the IND vs ENG 2nd Test approaches. England sealed a famous win in Hyderabad last week and now India and England will head to Vishakhapatnam for the second test.
Ashwin is just four wickets away from reaching 500 in the red ball format. He was phenomenal in the first Test of the England Tour of India 2024 at Hyderabad where he scalped 6 wickets.
Ashwin has been India’s first-choice spinner in India for a decade now. Whenever India have won a big match in the Indian subcontinent, he is the one with a big contribution in it.
Ravi Ashwin has played 96 tests in total where he has scalped as many as 496 wickets. Of his 96 test matches, 56 were played on Indian soil where he blew 343 heads. Interestingly, he is just 8 wickets away from going past Anil Kumble and becoming the highest wicket-taker in India.
He has bowled 4254 overs in his entire career and bowled 882 maidens. He has the best bowling figure of 7/59 in an innings and 13/140 in a match. With an average of ~24 and a strike rate of 51, Ashwin has picked up 24 fourfers and 34 fifers.
He has bagged 10 wickets in a match 8 times and currently, he is the spearhead of the Indian spin bowling attack, actively hunting from the front.

India lost the opening test of the series. “This victory is probably, 100% definitely, our greatest triumph,” said Ben Stokes after a remarkable win in the first test of the India Tour.
Before the series began, everyone was talking about how Bazball would do against the spinners. Without a doubt, they have won the opening round. The two teams in the spin department had quite different levels of expertise. Jack Leach’s niggle plagued him for most of the Test, which made things worse for the visiting team. Nevertheless, England managed to prevail.
