The demons have come again to haunt Shubman Gill in Test cricket. The India batter looked clueless in the ongoing third Test against England. The match between the teams is taking place at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.

India won the toss and opted to bat first. It has been a dreadful start for them as they lost Yashavi Jaiswal (10) early and it was expected that Shubman Gill would set the stand on fire, especially after him slammed a century in the last innings he played.

However, it wasn’t the case as Shubman Gill looked absolutely clueless at the pitch. England pacers in Mark Wood and James Anderson troubled him big time with the seam and swing movement and made him look like a gully cricketer on the field.

Shubman Gill bagged a 9-ball duck and his wicket put India under immense pressure. Mark Wood bowled a full and angling in ball just outside off, the batter had to play at it and it nipped away off the surface to catch a faint nick.

Ben Foakes behind the stumps took a brilliant catch as England picked the second wicket in just half an hour. Skipper Rohit Sharma at the other looked dejected and was clearly unhappy with the way his partner batted during his short stay at the crease.

Shubman Gill was under a lot of firing line due to his poor form in Test cricket. However, with his century in the last game, he silenced all the critics. But with his duck again, the batter has come under scanner yet again. It wont be a surprise if he gets dropped in the next game, especially with KL Rahul slated to come back.
