India captain Rohit Sharma didn’t have the kind of outing he would’ve wanted in the ongoing IND vs ENG second Test. The game between the teams is taking place at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

India won the toss and opted to bat first in the second IND vs ENG game. They had a cautious start as they showed discipline to the new ball. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 40 runs for the opening partnership and it seemed that they would give a big start to the team.

However, that wasn’t the case as skipper Rohit Sharma got out early. He continued his poor form with the bat in the Tests and perished to debutant Shoaib Bashir. The batter tried to glance forward to an off-spinner from the bowler and ended up getting an outside edge.

The ball went straight to Ollie Pope in the slips and was caught easily. Rohit Sharma managed just 14 off 41 deliveries on the opening day of the second IND vs ENG Test. He bagged failures in both the innings of the first game, scoring 24 and 39 across two innings.

Since his heroics in the West Indies, the batter has failed drastically. Rohit Sharma scored just 60 runs in the two-Test series in South Africa and has been able to score big in the ongoing IND vs ENG series. He would be hoping to silence his critics in the second innings of the match.
