IND vs ENG: Ben Stokes resumes bowling in nets ahead of second Test

With IND vs ENG Test just one day away from now, England has received a massive boost. Skipper Ben Stokes will be resuming bowling for the first time after his surgery. As per the reports in the Telegraph, it is learned that he will start practice from 1st February.

With him resuming bowling, it is likely that Ben Stokes might now bowl in the second IND vs ENG Test. The all-rounder will be easing into the bowling first and might take time to bowl in full throttle again. However, he’s expected to play a part with the ball in the series at some time.

Ben Stokes’ knee has been troubled him a lot for the past few years. It didn’t allow him to bowl but after the ICC World Cup 2023, he underwent surgery. The all-rounder has gained full fitness but it yet to be bowling fit. However, with him returning slowly to bowling, it can be a huge threat for the Indian team.

Ben Stokes bowling will be a huge advantage for England as it will allow team to play the combination they want to play. For India, it will not be a good news because they struggled against the English bowlers in the first IND vs ENG game and addition of one more bowler will surely hamper their plans.

Ben Stokes turning back to bowling comes one day after Joe Root surpassed him in the ICC all-rounder rankings. Root picked 5 wickets in the first IND vs ENG game and bagged the 4th rank. He is also expected to be a huge role for the team with both bat and ball in the second game.
