IND vs ENG: India suffers a massive Injury scare, senior All-Rounder likely to miss India vs England 2nd Test: In a bit of concerning news for the Indian team amidst the ongoing India vs England 1st test match in Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was seen clutching his hamstring while he was run out in the fourth innings. Jadeja has produced an injury scare for the Indian team as the IND vs ENG test series progresses.
Senior all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was seen having a bit of irritation in his hamstring as he completed the run. The southpaw clutched his hamstring and walked back to the pavilion after being given run out.
The incident happened during the 39th over of the fourth innings as Ravindra Jadeja pushed a full-toss delivery to mid-on and ran for a single. Ben Stokes stationed at mid-on quickly collected the ball and hurled it towards the three sticks and dislodged them. Stokes’ brilliant direct hit at the non-striker’s end caught Ravindra Jadeja off-guard, who was well short of his ground.
As Jadeja went over the crease he clutched his hamstring and was seen in a bit of discomfort. The batter was soon given run-out by the TV Umpire, Marais Erasmus, after checking the replay.
While we wait for the official confirmation from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Kevin Peterson, on air, said that Jadeja might not be available for the India vs England 2nd test match in Vishakhapatnam, starting February 02.
IND vs ENG: Team India in a spot of bother
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja’s dismissal also leaves team India in a spot of bother as the team is now left with Ravichandran Ashwin and KS Bharat, who are the last two recognised batters in the side. The next to come in the lineup are Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj.
Team India is currently reeling at a score of 133 runs in the loss of seven wickets. The host still requires 98 runs to win the test, while England just need three more wickets to go 1-up in the five-match test series.
So far in the fourth innings of the ongoing India vs England 1st test, skipper Rohit Sharma is the only batter to cross the 30-run mark. The second best after Rohit, so far, is KL Rahul, who was dismissed at a score of 22 runs.
England’s debutant spinner Tom Heartly has scalped four wickets while one wicket apiece has gone in the bag of Joe Root and Jack Leach.
