India Cricket Team has faced a massive blow ahead of the second T20I against England. Star batter Rinku Singh has been ruled out of the upcoming second match followed by the third match of five-match series as well.

Rinku Singh faced back spasm during the first T20I of the series against England, which took place on 22nd January. The batter didn't get to bat in the first match. He got injured while fielding and was deemed unfit for the next two games of the series.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India released the official statement and stated:

"Rinku Singh sustained a low back spasm while fielding in the 1st T20I against England on 22nd January. He is progressing well and the BCCI medical team is monitoring him closely. He is ruled out of the 2nd and 3rd games of the ongoing 5-match T20I series."

In his place, BCCI has added Ramandeep to the team. The governing body also has added a replacement for Nitish Kumar Reddy, who faced side strain during the first match. The statement further read: "The Senior Selection Committee has included Shivam Dube and Ramandeep Singh in the squad"

India’s updated squad for the T20I series against England

Suryakumar Yadav (C), Axar Patel (VC), Sanju Samson (WK), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammad Shami, Varun Chakaravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Shivam Dube, Ramandeep Singh.

The absence of Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh will be a massive blow for the team in the upcoming two games. The duo have been in the sensational form of late and with the way they have been performing, their absence will leave a massive void for the team.

However, it will be a great opportunity for Ramandeep Singh and Shivam Dube to earn their place back in the team. While Ramandeep made his debut during the South Africa series, Dube was part of the T20 World Cup-winning team.
