IND vs ENG: India T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav talked about his relationship with Hardik Pandya after taking over the captaincy of the team. He said that he shares a great bond with the all-rounders, and it's just the added responsibility that he has.
Suryakumar Yadav stole the limelight after he was appointed as the captain of the team in the T20I after the T20 World Cup 2024. After Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the shortest format of the game, it was almost certain that Hardik Pandya would become the captain of the team in the format.
This was because he captained the team regularly and also was the vice-captain. But in what was a sudden change of plans, Suryakumar Yadav was appointed as the captain of the team. It made many share their take on the same and lash out at the BCCI and Rohit Sharma for the same.
Suryakumar Yadav, who is the No.1 ranked batter in the T20Is, was allowed to lead the team. The skipper since then has been doing the job well, and the main focus has been on the relationship between the captain and Hardik Pandya, who was robbed of the leadership.
Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya have been bonding pretty well together since then. Both have shown great camaraderie on the field, and it has been quite evident as well. Their relationship was asked by the reporters ahead of the first T20I against England.

Talking about the relationship, Suryakumar Yadav said that they have a great bond. He said that the all-rounder is part of the leading group and they are very good friends. Speaking to reporters, he said:
"The relationship with Hardik is great - It's just the added responsibility that I have got - Hardik is part of the leading group, we have been good friends".
Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav will be playing together for the team in the T20I series against England. The first match of the series will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Wednesday (22nd January).
