Shubman Gill’s excellence rained records: Shubman Gill, the Indian opener, scored a double hundred, becoming the fifth Indian and the youngest player ever to do so. On Wednesday, during the first ODI of IND vs NZ at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Shubman Gill scored 208 runs off just 149 balls to become the fastest Indian to reach 1000 ODI runs.

In the first ODI of Ind vs NZ, Gill made and broke a lot of records. He became the fastest Indian and second fastest in the world to reach 1000 runs. He also became the fifth Indian to score 200 in an ODI following Sachin Tendulkar, Virendra Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, and Ishan Kishan. And lastly, he became the youngest player to score a double ton. Shubman Gill reached 1000 runs

In his 19th inning, Gill reached 106 to surpass the threshold. Gill became the quickest Indian and joint-second fastest man to accomplish the feat, passing Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan (24 innings). While falling short of Fakhar Zaman’s record of fastest to 1000 ODI runs in 18 innings, he matched Iman-ul-Haq to achieve the milestone in 19 innings.

During the three-match series against South Africa in October, Shubman Gill became the first Indian to reach 500 runs in One-Day Internationals in the fastest time possible. To break the record, he took ten innings. Janneman Malan of South Africa currently owns the record after just seven innings.

Shubman Gill’s 200

Shubman Gill blasted his first double-century off just 145 balls. He was the fifth Indian cricketer to surpass the milestone, and his innings was studded with 8 gigantic sixes and 19 boundaries. The record had previously been achieved by Ishan Kishan, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, and Sachin Tendulkar. In addition, he broke Kishan’s record for the youngest cricketer to score a double century in one-day internationals.

The young player gave a near-perfect performance against the New Zealand bowlers, appearing to be entirely in control. With Rohit, he put together a reliable 50-run partnership for the first wicket, and even when Rohit was out, Gill continued to bat with little apparent discomfort on the even-bouncing pitch.
