IND vs PAK: REVENGED! KING KOHLI Stars as India Crushed Pakistan by 6 Wickets

IND vs PAK- India have got their revenge, defeating and knocking Pakistan out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025! With Kohli's ton and disciplined Indian bowling, Pakistan were nowhere close to challenging the Men in Blue, as India dominated the game from top to bottom.

Virat Kohli’s masterful innings, Shreyas Iyer’s late onslaught, and a disciplined bowling display ensured India’s dominant victory over Pakistan. The last time these two sides met in an ICC Champions Trophy match was the 2017 final, where Pakistan outclassed India to lift the trophy. However, with this win, India has now leveled the score.

Let's take a look at the Match report and Points table after IND vs PAK:

IND vs PAK Match Report

Toss and Team Updates

Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first. India struggled in the chase against Bangladesh and this would have made a big impact on Rizwan's decision to bat first. Fakhar Zaman was out due to Injury and Imam was in and rest team was same for both sides.

India Playing 11: Rohit Sharma(c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, KL Rahul(w), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav

Pakistan Playing 11: Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan(w/c), Salman Agha, Tayyab Tahir, Khushdil Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Abrar Ahmed

Pakistan's Innings- 241/10 (49.4 Overs)

It wouldn't be entirely accurate to say that India dominated from the start. Pakistan's openers, Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq, handled the initial overs well. However, Hardik Pandya struck in the ninth over, dismissing Babar. Shortly after, Imam was caught short of his crease by Axar Patel’s sharp throw, leaving Pakistan at 52/2 inside the batting powerplay.

Suad Shakeel and skipper Rizwan then stitched a 104-run partnership together and paved a path towards a challenging total but Axar bamboozled Rizwan four runs short of his half-century and on the other end, Hardik Pandya removed the half-centurion Saud Shakeel (62).

Khushdil Shah and Salman Agha got starts but failed to capitalize on them. Kuldeep Yadav got two wickets in two deliveries and Pakistan were heading for a below-par score against a quality batting side. Khushdil Shah put all his efforts but Harshit Rana removed him and that was the wrap for Pakistan's innings at 241 runs.

Indian bowlers deserve praise! They were disciplined throughout and even when they were not getting wickets, they showed consistency with lines and lengths.

INDIA Innings- 244/4 (42.3 overs)

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill were expected to give a smooth start to India But Shaheen Afridi clean-bowled Rohit Sharma early in the 5th over. Shubman and Virat Kohli went through the damage and put India on a winning stage in the middle. Gill again got out 4 runs away from his half-century and Abrar Ahmed gave his trademark send-off to him.

Virat Kohli, in the process, hit the landmark of 14,000 runs in just 287 innings and he didn't stop there. Shreyas Iyer also scored a quick fifty and India were just on the doorstep of the victory. Imam Ul Haq caught a flying catch of Shreyas Iyer but it is going to be controversial as some angles showed the ball was touching the ground.

Hardik Pandya came and powered a couple of hits but fell prey to Shaheen Afridi but it was too late. Virat Kohli neared his 51st ODI ton and with a winning FOUR, he got his 82nd international century and INDIA won the match by 6 wickets.

This result for Pakistan is not only a loss against India but also a virtual elimination from the tournament. For India, they have qualified for the Semifinals with this win. Their next match against New Zealand would be more like a practice match for the elimination round. However, India would like to keep the tempo up and put forth the winning momentum.
