IND vs SA: The Indian Cricket Team is all set to tour South Africa for the T20Is, ODIs and Tests. It’ll be an all-important tour for the Rohit Sharma-led side as it’ll give a clear picture of about many things. The squad for the Tests and T20Is are likely to give the roadmap of the ICC World Test Championship and T20 World Cup 2024 whereas the 50-over format will showcase about the kind of core team that is making for the Champions Trophy 2025.
IND vs SA: India squad for South Africa to be announced on this date
After the disappointing loss in the ICC World Cup 2023, the focus will now be on the IND vs SA series. One of the major questions that revolves around Indian Cricket is what will be the squad for the South Africa series in all the formats of the game.
However, all the speculations are likely to end today. As per the various media reports, it is learned that the Indian squad for South Africa will be announced on Thursday (30th November). BCC is expected to announce the team for all three formats.
There are a lot of speculations about if Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be part of the T20I setup or not. The duo hasn’t played in this format since the T20 World Cup 2022. However, if they don’t feature in the team, it’s fair to say that they aren’t on the radar to play in the T20 World Cup 2024.
Various reports have suggested that the BCCI is trying to convince Rohit Sharma to captain the team in the T20Is. The Indian skipper reportedly has conveyed that he doesn’t want to play in the shortest format of the game as youngsters should be given opportunities. However, BCCI selectors have told him to continue playing and they will be happy if he plays in this format as well.
On the other hand, several reports have suggested that Virat Kohli has conveyed to selectors that he wants rest for the white-ball series. The batter is likely to be available for the Test series only. BCCI is expected to give opportunities to youngsters in IND vs SA.
IND vs SA: India vs South Africa full schedule
India will be playing three T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests on their tour to South Africa. IND vs SA will begin with a T20I series, slated to be played from 10th December to 14th December. Following that ODIs will be played from 17th December to 21st December. The tour will conclude with Tests, set to be played from 26th December to 7th December.
