IND vs WI 2nd Test: Rohit Sharma Creates History: Team India skipper Rohit Sharma has once again hopped into the limelight after he created history by achieving an elusive feat. Rohit Sharma became the 1st batter to achieve this feat during the ongoing India vs West Indies 2nd Test at Queens Park in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
Rohit Sharma has been phenomenal for team India in the test colours ever since he walked out to open the innings and truly his stats reflect that. The Indian stalwart has become 1st batter to achieve 30 consecutive double-digit scores in the longest format of cricket.
Notably, he recorded this elusive feat in the process of scoring a quickfire half-century in the third innings of the ongoing IND vs WI 2nd Test. Sharma amassed a swift 57 runs in 44 deliveries with the help of five boundaries and three sixes.
Talking about the record for most consecutive double digits scores in test cricket, former Sri Lankan batter Mahela Jayawardene held the record with 29 double-digit scores. However, now Indian captain Rohit Sharma has surpassed that figure with his 30 consecutive double-digit test innings.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal also created a couple of other records as well during their second innings in the IND vs WI 2nd Test. The Indian openers registered a quickfire half-century in just 5.5 overs, which is the fastest among the Indian opening pairs.
The two batters quickly added 98 runs to the Indian total in just 11.5 overs before the dismissal of Rohit Sharma. In the subsequent over, Yashasvi Jaiswal also perished away at a score of 38 runs in 30 deliveries.
Shubman Gill and wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan complemented the scores put up by the two openers by adding a few more runs quickly. While Gill remained unbeaten at a score of 29 runs, Ishan Kishan registered his maiden half-century in just 34 deliveries.
India added another 181 runs to their previous lead of 183 runs. West Indies are required to chase a total of 364 runs in the final innings of the IND vs WI 2nd Test. At the stumps on Day 4, West Indies were already two down at a score of 76 runs. Tagneraine Chandrapaul and Jermaine Blackwood are unbeaten at the crease with scores of 24 and 20 respectively.
West Indies will require another 289 runs to win the 2nd IND vs WI test, while, team India will need eight wickets to seal the test and clean sweep West Indies by 2-0 on their own soil.
