IND vs WI: Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami to be rested for the West Indies tour; Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik to play the full tour
IND vs WI: In what has been the latest development as per the reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that the Board of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) is keen to rest Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Siraj for the West Indies tour. The governing body is making sure that the ace fast bowling dup gets proper rest ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup and Cricket World Cup 2023.
In their place, BCCI is likely to send Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik on a full tour. It can be assumed that they can even make their debut in the Tests. The duo has been travelling with the Indian team for a while now and has been getting opportunities as well.
Both Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik have performed decently well in ODIs and T20Is. It’ll be a chance for them to make their case strong and also BCCI will be having a keen eye on them with World Cup in place. The Punjab pacer is currently playing county cricket and it is expected that he can get a chance in Tests.
Whereas on the other Umran Malik is having time off. He was last seen in action during the IPL 2023. He didn’t have a great outing there as he went for plenty of runs and was even dropped from the team. But it’s fair to say that time off would’ve given him a breather and he would be raring to go.
