IND vs WI: Sourav Ganguly lashes out at selectors over omission for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in T20Is
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced the squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against West Indies, which is slated to take place from 4th August to 13th August. The governing body followed the same template as they have been doing after the T20 World Cup 2022.
Big names like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja continued to be absent from the squad, which raised quite a few eyebrows. Hardik Pandya was again given the responsibility to lead the team and quite a few youngsters were presented with the opportunity.

The absence of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and other senior players didn’t go well with many as they feel that the duo are still the best in the business and should be there in the shortest format of the game. Notably, both haven’t played a single T20I since the T20 World Cup 2022.
Sourav Ganguly too wasn’t impressed with Indian selectors not providing Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli with opportunities in the T20Is. He said that he cannot see any reason why they can’t play the shortest format of the game.
Speaking to RevSportz, he said: “In my opinion, Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma still have a place in T20I Cricket and I cannot see why Kohli or Rohit cannot play T20I cricket for India”.
