India A squad to leave for England in two phases, the first batch to go on...

While the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is about to resume, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is making sure that preparations for the England tour are right on track. The two teams will lock horns with each other in a five-match Test series.

Ahead of the five-match Test series against England, India A will be seen in action in the three games. They will be locking horns with the England Lions in two games, and one will be against the main Indian team to help them prepare for the main series.

The squad of India A was delayed by the BCCI after the rescheduling of the IPL 2025. But, as per the reports in RevSportz, it is learned that the governing body will be sending the players of the A team in two batches. The first batch of the players will leave on 25th May, and they will comprise players whose IPL teams won't play in the playoffs.

First India A batch will depart for England on the 25th of May.

The source close to BCCI said: "With the IPL schedule out, top sources have now confirmed that players will leave in batches and that the first India A batch will depart for England on the 25th of May.

Whoever is selected and their league games are done will be a part of the first batch. As the tournament progresses, players from the franchises who have been knocked out of the tournament will immediately fly out to England,”

In another section of reports in Indian Express, it is learned that the second batch of the A players will be leaving in early June. It is learned that the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan, Karun Nair, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Dhruv Jurel, Shardul Thakur, Tanush Kotian, Akash Deep, Khaleel Ahmed, Anshul Kamboj, and Manav Suthar will be part of the team.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Bengaluru players Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar will miss the tour. This is because they faced injuries during the IPL. The first India A vs England Lions will take place from May 30–June 2 and will be followed by the second game June 6–9.
