India A vs England Lions: Take a bow, ‘Karun Nair’! Indian Test triple-centurion stuns on India A return in England
India A vs England Lions: After months of limited-overs cricket, with the international matches at the Champions Trophy, followed immediately by the Indian Premier League. However, the month-long cricket tournament has now reached its end after 2 months of intense cricketing action.
The world is slowly returning to witness the longest format of the game, as red-ball action resumes for the biggest nations like Australia and South Africa. They are preparing for the World Test Championship Final at Lord's, which will be followed by a five-match series between India and England.
Before starting the series, Indian players are already in England playing practice games against the counties as well as the junior national side of England. India A includes several players from the main side for the upcoming tests, and now they are up against the England Lions in the practice test.
The test, which began on the 30th of May, found India batting first after a long stint of absence from English pitches. After Yashasvi Jaiswal and Abhimanyu Easwaran, the skipper of the India A side, were both dismissed early, it was No. 3 and No. 4 on the batting side to play a pivotal role here.

Karun Nair, who came in to bat at no. 3, played stunningly throughout the day, as the batter seemed invincible to the England Lions bowlers. Nair returns to the Indian test side after a gap of 7-8 years; he last played in the Australia tour back in 2017.
His heroic triple hundred against England came back in the year 2016; however, after a stint of just 6 games, Karun Nair was dropped from the test side after a low-scoring series against the Aussies.
However, he has been backed into the Indian test side after a stint of impressive scores in the Indian domestic tournaments and also a decent show in the Indian Premier League for the Delhi Capitals. Karun Nair came to bat at tough times, and alongside Sarfaraz Khan at no. 4 and Dhruv Jurel at no. 5, Nair put on successive partnerships to give India A a strong lead on Day 1.
Sarfaraz Khan ended his innings with 92 runs; however, Dhruv Jurel, with 82* runs, also played a great supporting role to Karun Nair’s 186*.
