T20 World Cup 2024: As per the latest development happening around the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, Team India and Pakistan are likely to be in the same group while the other group will feature the likes of Australia and England.

While Barbados is considered to stage the Australia vs England fixture, the marquee India vs Pakistan game is set to be held in a newly built pop-up stadium in New York, according to the reports.

The decision to club India-Pakistan and Australia-England in the same groups is made to attract a large crowd. While the two Asian giants will continue to dominate the World Cup viewership, Australia and England are also expected to significantly attract millions of views.

Notably, the T20 World Cup 2024, which is scheduled to be co-hosted by the West Indies and the USA, will begin on June 4. The coveted tournament will run for a month before crowing another side as the World T20 Champions. England are the current World T20 Champions as they won the 2022 edition of the tournament by defeating Pakistan in the final.

Meanwhile, to accommodate the need for a large crowd-handling venue for the India vs Pakistan fixture, the ICC is working along with the hosts to set up a temporary stadium which will have a seating capacity of 34,000 people.

The event is likely to be staged in three venues across the United States including the Central Broward Park in Florida, Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas and Eisenhower Park on Long Island, about 25 miles from downtown Manhattan. Meanwhile, the fourth venue is being prepared in New York, especially for India vs Pakistan.

The schedule for the T20 World Cup 2024 is likely to be announced this week. The 8-team tournament is expected to be held from 8 June onwards, while the final will be staged on June 30.
