India ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Squad, Team Announced, Jasprit Bumrah returns: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finally announced India’s ICC T20 World Cup 2022 squad on Monday (12th September). The 15-men formidable squad has been shortlisted in the presence of five national selectors along with India captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid.
Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah will be making his return along with death over specialist bowler Harshal Patel. The two aforementioned bowlers missed the recently held Asia Cup 2022 due to injuries.
The 15-men side comprises skipper Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar among others.
Wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant has retained his position in the team along with Dinesh Karthik, who is a designated finisher.
Premier all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022 due to a knee injury. He has recently undergone surgery for the same and will continue with his rehabilitation.
Veteran pacer Mohammad Shami is still missing from the squad despite numerous critics and pundits calling out for his inclusion.
Interestingly, young speedster Avesh Khan has missed out on the first 15 following a poor outing in the Asia Cup 2022. On the other side, Arshdeep Singh has retained his place owing to his brilliant bowling display.
