The Board of Control for Cricket in India has unveiled the India Under-19 squad for their England tour, set to run from June 24 to July 23, 2025. 

Mumbai’s 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre will captain the side, with 14-year-old Bihar sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi included after his heroic performances in IPL 2025. 

The tour includes a 50-over warm-up match, five youth ODIs, and two multi-day matches. In this article, we share the squad and tour details with you. Let’s dive in.

India U19 Squad for England Tour 2025 Announced

Ayush Mhatre, aged 17, delivered a standout performance for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025, scoring 206 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 187. 

Stepping in as a replacement for the injured Ruturaj Gaikwad, Mhatre’s top score was 94. He made his First-Class debut for Mumbai and has shown impressive leadership in Under-19 tournaments, earning him the captaincy for this tour. 

Mhatre will open the batting and guide the team in both the ODIs and multi-day games.

Full Squad Details

The 16-member squad, picked by the BCCI’s Junior Cricket Committee, features: Ayush Mhatre (Captain), Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Vihaan Malhotra, Maulyarajsinh Chavda, Rahul Kumar, Abhigyan Kundu (Vice-Captain & WK), Harvansh Singh (WK), R S Ambrish, Kanishk Chouhan, Khilan Patel, Henil Patel, Yudhajit Guha, Pranav Raghavendra, Mohammed Enaan, Aditya Rana, Anmoljeet Singh. Standby players are Naman Pushpak, D Deepesh, Vedant Trivedi, Vikalp Tiwari, and Alankrith Rapole (WK).

Vaibhav Suryavanshi: The 14-Year-Old IPL Sensation

At just 14, Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the breakout star of IPL 2025 for Rajasthan Royals, scoring 252 runs, including a stunning century off 135 balls against Gujarat Titans - the fastest century by an Indian in IPL history

With a strike rate of 206, his fearless batting won fans over. Stepping in for the injured Sanju Samson, the Bihar-born batsman earned the selectors’ attention with his remarkable performances. Suryavanshi will open alongside Mhatre on this tour.

Tour Schedule and Venues

The tour kicks off with a 50-over warm-up match on June 24 at Loughborough University. The five youth ODIs will take place from June 27 to July 7 across Hove, Northampton, and Worcester. 

The two multi-day matches are scheduled at Beckenham from July 12 to 15 and at Chelmsford from July 20 to 23.

Key Players to Watch

Apart from Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi, other players to watch include Vihaan Malhotra, who has opened with Suryavanshi in Under-19 matches, and Gujarat’s Khelan Patel, a standout in the Bihar Trophy

Spinners Mohammad Inam and opener Jeet Guha add flair, while wicketkeepers Abhigyan Kundu and Harvansh Singh bring depth. Their red-ball skills will be tested in the multi-day matches, making them key to India’s success.
